Guide for Dry skin

The Summer Survival Guide for Dry skin: Transforming Dry Skin into Summer Sensation!

I think we could all agree that no one wants dry and crusty looking skin during the Summer season. So how do we keep it protected and hydrated?😫

I will share with you some of my go to tips on how to keep the skin glowing and refreshed.

I think it's obvious that hydration is the No1 priority here. As much as the sunshine and heat during this period are AMAZING for or overall wellbeing and mental health, it could also mean that are bodies are drained from the necessary moisture and we need to be mindful of that. To prevent that from happening, drinking water is crucial for your skin. Staying hydrated from INSIDE and OUT! It is simple solution but effective! Additionally to lock in that moisture and prevent dehydration I love to apply body butter or even body oil (as it has a lighter texture and feel) after a morning shower while my skin is still a little damp. Gives you the perfect all day Sun Kissed Glow 😎 I may or may not be hinting at a new product that will be perfect for that summer glow. (hint, hint)

Speaking of showers, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE!

Imagine painting a varnished wooden table without sanding it first. The paint won't adhere well, resulting in an uneven and rough finish. The same concept applies to skincare. Applying body butters, oils, serums, and lotions without exfoliating first merely hydrates the layer of dead skin cells on the surface, wasting your time and money. By exfoliating regularly (2 to 3 times a week), you care for the new skin, enhancing its longevity and radiance. Exfoliation also improves the absorption of skincare products. There are two types of exfoliants: manual scrubs with physical particles and chemical exfoliants with fruit enzymes. Personally, I prefer manual scrubs for instant gratification and a soft, supple feel. If you have sensitive skin, opt for gentle products containing fruit enzymes for gradual exfoliation.

Antioxidant Boost: make sure to incorporate antioxidant rich products into your skincare routine. Antioxidants are little superheroes! 🦸‍♀️ They help to protect the skin from environmental damage caused by free radicals ( YES sadly the UV rays are part of that category). Antioxidants can also aid reduction in inflammation. Popular Antioxidants are: Vitamin C, Vitamin B3, Green Tea Extract, Resveratrol - found in grapes, berries and certain plants. You can find plenty of antioxidants across Skin Solace products which is one of the reasons they are so amazing and deliver great results.

💧 Finally, let's talk about my love for using a refreshing facial mist during those scorching summer days. Now, when I say facial mist, I don't mean those ridiculously expensive ones you find at the drugstore that are basically just water. Seriously, who needs that when you can make your own, am I right? For my go-to DIY facial mist, I combine Rose Water (packed with antioxidants and super hydrating) with Aloe Vera. But here's a little heads up: if you mix water with Aloe Vera Gel and put it in a spray bottle, it can develop bacteria over time. To keep your hydrating mist both functional and safe, make sure to add a natural preservative like Vitamin E. You can use it right away, just avoid using it after a day or two to stay on the safe side. Or if you prefer you could just dispense some Rose Water in a spray bottle for a quick fix and not overcomplicate it. 😉

P.S. You won't find me mentioning SPF sun protection creams 🧴 because, let's be real, you should already know better. Don't forget to slather on that SPF, my friend! Protect yourself like a responsible sun-loving champ! 👉
